This year long project took place in Edinburgh’s Old Town, and was a celebration of the contemporary life in the area at the turn of the millennium. A number of schools and community groups for all ages worked with a team of artists over the year 1999 – 2000, and the resulting work was displayed in the City Art Centre from October 2000 – January 2000. The opening procession, consisting of all participants and artists, wound its way from Moray House College to the City Art Centre, headed by 2 enormous gigantes (cardbord puppets), created by local people working with Catalan artists David Ventura and Neus Hosta. Several other international artists worked with us, including Filiberto and Yanoski Mora from Cuba. The local arts team included amongst others Kate Downie and Kenny Bean.
