Today has been an absolute winner of a day – glorious sunshine and clear blue skies. Went on a hike up the valley behind Kleifar right up to the snow field and did some drawings on the way. Came back to the house and sat in the sun for an hour or so… this has truly made up for the news received this morning that i didn’t get the residency I applied for in Japan. Oh well – perhaps it’s just as well as I can see that this autumn will be taken up developing all the images I am collecting here. It’s all about the constant wearing away of the surface of the planet – the wind and the rain and the snow – and the shaping of the surface into the landforms we know today. I don’t want to reproduce these images in any form – i want to try to make art about the forms and processes – not the forms and processes themselves if that makes sense. It should be about the sensation of being in the landscape – and being part of it – not standing on the outside observing. Deep stuff!
Anyway here are more images from today:
up at the snow line…and it was warm!!
