September 14th

Published: 14th September 2015

These last pieces about the Finnish bog seemed a bit bland so I decided to put some reference on them to following of the blue markings along the walks… I like the blue with the ochre colours and again I have tried to distil the ideas into simple shapes:

'Follow the blue markings'

I would happily work away at these ideas for days, but I now feel the need to work on a press and develop the printmaking, so I will prepare some ideas for work on my return to EP (Edinburgh Printmakers).

In the meantime some of us went to an opening of the Tampere Triennale last week and for me there were 2 highlights:

Finlayson mill building
the pillars in the Finlayson mill building (reminiscent of birch trees?)
Knitted man
and the infamous KNITTED MAN…
